About This Place

Located in the heart of Albany, California, Brezo is a vibrant restaurant that beautifully marries the comforts of traditional American brunch classics with the bold, fresh flavors of Mexican-inspired cuisine. Nestled at 1111 Solano Ave, this neighborhood gem invites you to indulge in a rich culinary experience where each dish tells its own story through thoughtful ingredients and expert preparation.

Step inside and feel the warm, inviting atmosphere that balances casual charm with attentive service—perfect for everything from a relaxed weekend brunch to an intimate candlelit dinner. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingles with the scent of sizzling Mt. Tam potatoes and spices, teasing your taste buds with the promise of a meal well worth savoring.

Brezo's brunch menu is a standout, featuring mouthwatering dishes such as the Mt. Diablo Chilaquiles Verdes—crispy chips drenched in vibrant tomatillo sauce, layered with melted jack cheese and quesco fresco, topped with two eggs cooked to perfection, creamy avocado, and a dollop of sour cream. Another favored item is the Cheesy Polenta with Eggs, a comforting plate where creamy, cheddar-rich polenta is paired with fried eggs, savory sausage, and salsa, delivering a harmonious blend of textures and flavors with every bite. Not to be missed are the fluffy Blueberry Pancakes and the elegantly simple yet decadent Vanilla Scone with Devonshire Cream, both perfectly complemented by a robust cappuccino or a classic Bloody Mary.

The dinner offerings showcase equally enticing options, such as the succulent Tri-Tip Sandwich, the flavorful Wet Carnitas Burrito, and the delightfully crisp yet tender Fish and Chips. For those with a sweet tooth, Brezo’s Chocolate Cupcakes offer a rich, moist finish that is subtle yet indulgent. Their rotating specials—like the celebrated corned beef dinner or seasonal crab sandwiches—add a dynamic edge to the menu, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.

Wine enthusiasts will appreciate the thoughtfully curated Carta De Vinos, featuring an inspiring selection of reds and whites. Whether it’s the bright, citrus notes of the Husch Anderson Valley Chenin Blanc or the robust blackberry and toffee undertones of the Pinot Noir from the same region, there’s a perfect pairing waiting to elevate your meal.

What truly sets Brezo apart is the genuine care evident in every plate and every interaction. Reviewers consistently praise the generous portions, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the care put into seasoning and preparation. One happy diner raved about the “best fries on the planet” and the “amazing textures and nuance in flavor” found in the desserts. Another highlighted the “incredibly flavorful” Calico salad—a dish so good it converted a self-proclaimed non-salad eater. Staff attentiveness is noted, providing just the right balance of friendly presence and space to unwind with loved ones.

Whether you're seeking a lively spot for brunch with friends, a charming locale for a cozy dinner, or simply a dependable destination for comfort food with a creative twist, Brezo delivers. The combination of hearty, soul-satisfying dishes, warm ambiance, and attentive service makes it a beloved corner of Albany’s thriving food scene.

In sum, Brezo is more than a restaurant—it’s an inviting culinary experience where passion for food and community converge to create moments worth savoring again and again.

Had brunch with my wife here because they just opened up in Albany. We shared the scone, I ordered the Chilaquiles and my wife ordered the breakfast sopes. Everything was delicious and food came out in good timing. The staff was also attentive and gave us space to eat and chat. Would come here again! We also ordered the Tri Tip Sandwich and the Chicken Gordita to-go. Also super tasty! Really though, try this place out yourself! Update: Feb 11, 2024 Went back for lunch with my wife to try different items on the brunch menu. Wife got the Mt.Tam Potatoes, I got the banana French toast (both served in a generous serving size). We couldn't help ourselves so we got a scone to share, a blueberry pancake and a banana pancake with fried chicken on the side. Everything came out timely and tasted amazing. Consistency is something we feel demonstrates whether a restaurant has their stuff down or not. Second time ordering the scone was not a disappointment. The service was also consistent, they were readily available but we didn't feel rushed. We will continue coming here!

We’ve been here four times now. Three dinners and a brunch. Food has consistently been plentiful and yummy. Standouts are their polenta and eggs for brunch, their special corned beef dinner on St. Patrick’s Day, their mussels (which I didn’t take a picture of but are well seasoned and good, not quite as delicious as their predecessor Cafe Rendezvous but close). The mango pavlova dessert (which I forgot to take a picture of) is also spectacular. This system is not letting me state that these pictures are from multiple meals.

I came to write a review to support the owners bcz they are such sweet and incredibly hard working people. The food is rly fresh, flavorful and good, th portions are huge. The Calico salad is my favorite salad as a non salad eater lol! The burger and fried chicken sandwich are so perfectly seasoned and juicy. They have rotating specials like the ceaser chicken wrap, crab sandwich, or corned beef/reuben something like that. They are soo good it's rly sad when they don't have that special that day hahah. My favorite thing to get there is the chilaquiles however bcz im js a brunch girly and I Love a green chilaquiles that's not too sour and still a little bit crispy.. 10/10. The only thing is u might have to wait sometimes at night when it gets super busy bcz the staff is small. But they still come out pretty fast and they are rly a perfect spot to come for lunch. I know the owners are rly trying to get business up so they can maintain a good level of staff.. this place is honestly so unassuming in its Albany location, it's being slept on but it's rly a gem and I want to see it thrive so it can stay for years and years. Also the owner Hector will come out and personally greet u in his rly shy way because he is js the sweetest man on th planet. Pls support this local gem

Probably one of the best salads I’ve had in my life 10 out of 10 and I don’t remember the last time I had a candlelight dinner. I enjoyed every moment.

Brezo gets 5 stars all the way. Every single thing I have eaten, or my child has eaten, has been so delicious! Best fries on the planet, everything is seasoned to perfection, High-quality ingredients and obviously made with a lot of care. The desserts are heaven, not overly sweet, amazing textures and nuance in flavor... yum! Everything we have not tried also looks phenomenal. I'm definitely looking forward to our next visit so we can try more! We will be back again and again!

get. their. burger. It is that good. The fries are also super crispy, honestly, they might just be the best fries I've ever had. You know when the food is so good the table goes silent because everyone's too busy eating to talk? This place will make you do that. Get their burger.

This is our new favorite lunch spot. The food is *excellent* and well-priced, the service friendly and efficient, and there's a pleasant little outdoor seating area. Every dish my family has had is delicious - mushroom-cheese-avo sandwich, black bean burger, fish and chips, unique daily soups, and delightfully fresh salads. Every detail is done with care including high quality bread and carefully considered salad compositions. Food is made with skill and love, and feels healthy and comforting.

Been here twice. Once for brunch and once for dinner. Both times the quality of the food were amazing. Best dinner and dessert I've had a restaurant in a long time. We had the Sea Bass and the short rib sopes. For dessert we had the dark chocolate tart, praline and whipped cream with a Kahlua sauce. (It was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time)This place is our official date night spot when we can get away.
